For users that may get confused, the install location for those maps go in /lgsl/lgsl_files/maps/source/left4dead2/ , as l4d is based off the source engine and not the HL1 (halflife) engine.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's strange however. I have to put these files under /halflife in my installation or it won't work. Maybe this location changed overtime? I'm not using the latest version (5.0).
