I have e107 Version v0.6174 build 20051020

There is a strange issue with it. In the Chat box and any forum posts.
All Backslashs do not show.

If you type in a path, say:
C:\Program Files\DivX\Artwork

All users will see is:
C:program filesDivXArtwork

If you go as Admin to edit the chat box or forum post, it looks fine. All the \ (backslash)are there. If I use a / (forward slah), it works fine.

I have a test site that I have setup. Same theme, same version and when I do the exact thing, it works fine

Is there a setting somewhere I am missing? It is driving users (and myself, and I don't have far to go!!) crazy!

Thanks in advance!!

Well first be aware that there are security issues with 0.6174 so you should apply the 0.6175 patch immediatly ( available from the downloads section at e107.org )

The second is a long standing issue with 0.617 not escaping special characters before inserting them into mysql.

Turning on magic_quotes_gpc should fix this problem, but can cause plugin problems in return.

So I would recommend you patch up move to 0.7.2 when its released ( dont use 0.7.1 as it has a plugin manager bug )
