it still makes no sense to password query informations, unless the devs know that they only produce shit since 3 years and that their engine is so much full of flaws that pulling the query from public would cause the server to lag, but thinking so would just be another epic fail from em 'cause hammering a server with false passwords would knock them out too. but i don't expect anything else when even the core team leaves the sinking ship.
whatever, activision is a no-go publisher for me since ages (straigt after EA unless they're really just publishing the retails and have no tied investments to the actual programm) so i don't really care about that BO/these CoD issue/s.
i just hate fanboys, if there wheren't those BO probably never had been released, at least not in this short time and with repeating the fail from MW2. i never understood those kids. i for myself play a game if it's good and not to follow episodes of an franchise, well on RPG's i might could understand it if it has a awesome storyline, but hell i don't care about stories in a, mainly for MP developed FPS game (BF, CoD, MoH all have the same plain "story" in just different settings). but whatever i don't care about CoD, making FPS games a major brand in console gameing is a joke, and it's offtopic anyway.
on the other hand; for indie developers thes failure from major brands couldn't be better!

I'm sure you and the other anti-BO folks make good points, but I'm also pretty sure that many of the people visiting this forum, like myself, requesting BO are web/server admins who are just asking for what their players want.
I don't play BO. I don't own it, and I don't particularly like it. But I do run a gaming community that hosts and [generally] likes the game. They want a BO module. Simple as that.
it doesn't matter if it's about CoD or any other game (from other devs, check the first post to find a view other games doing this), passwort on gamequeries make no sense, as the security benefit from it is zero, and so there is no sense to add password support to public query scripts (like LGSL)
BO is/was just the latest example.
if there'll be a LGSL 6.x a feature idea might be plugin support with autoload function. so 3rds can hook in LGSL and add in 3rd party support and hack it how they want it easily without touching the LGSL core. that'll probably satisfy everyone. SpiffyTek

Fanboys?? Is the a dictionary that defines nerd talk,WTF does that mean? If you knew it was off topic than why even post? I know why.... you have nothing else to do in life,so sad. The people here are just looking for an update to a plugin,we dont want or care to read your personal opinion!
fangirl/boy links to the term "fandom" and dates back to the early 1930's, so it isn't really a nerd term. in relation to computergameing this term is mostly describing a person who is loyall to a game/gameseries no matter how good or bad that game actually is. (your post indicates that you might be such a "fanboy" and is probably the reason why you felt personaly spoken to with my post, hence your reply)
whatever, if you don't care about my thoughts then just don't read them. i didn't started that discussion about BO. which, however, doesn't change my mind about that the new CoD titles suck.
anyway, if you'd properly read and follow LGSL (greycube) you'd knew that LGSL won't support games that require passwords for beeing queried. (See this topics first post by perry).
Perry also said that across some other topics more than once.

I agree that passworded gamequeries are dumb, but the sense in adding support to e.g. LGSL is simply because games do this. The game certainly won't change, but it's not going away quickly either (relatively speaking). Of course, I still respect Rich's decisions about what to do and what not to do. But yes plugin support would be quite awesome indeed, though it's a little out-of-scope.

I don't see to what you're referring. I'm looking at the OP and don't see anything about password-query games (EDIT: Unless you're referring to the Trackmania entry). Also maybe I have it wrong, but don't BF2 and BFBC2 use the same type of queries? They use the same type of admin command center program, and they are supported.

WOW...look at all the Black Ops servers that dont need a password to query the server! AMAZING!

Thanks for the definition! Well than that definition defines you as a "LGSL fanboy" correct? Riding someone elses work....Once again....sad!
gametracker (property of gameservers.com) gets these informations from Activisions masterservers and not by quering the individual servers.
@Roachy; BF2 and BFBC2 do not require passwords. and yes, i'm reefering to the Trackmania case, but there's also a Post made by Perry in some other topic telling that he won't add passworded protocols. I'd need to search for it myself 'cause i don't know the topic anymore, it was surely about a request for a game.
anyway, i'm not the voice of Perry noir i want to be a "wannabe perry". so either he adds it or not, i can understand why he restricts to do that. that's all.
i even had myself a BO server live at release day (droped it early this month) but i was far away from beging for BO support in LGSL.
also i'm not a "fanboy" due the fact that the script works and is not broken. it would be different if LGSL would be full of flaws and breaks things continiusly and i'd still liked it and defend bad feedback with "good speak and how awesome it is". or talking bad about any other script similar to LGSL no matter how awesome it actually is cause for me "LGSL is the one and only god".
whatever, you made your point clear and so did i, and we both probably agree that we don't agree eachother on the password thing. SpiffyTek
LGSL is not a Voiceserver tool (hence the G for Game in LGSL)

anyway, any native mumble viewer requires the ICE extension, which is a pain to install/use. alternatives use relay servers running these extensions. (both ways are implented in phpmubleviewer)
but tbh yeah, i'd welcome a "LVSL" too^^ SpiffyTek
