Some Plugins

PayPal Donate Menu 1.3 and PM Alert 1.1 are now available.

Check out the description on the downloads for more information.

GC Custom Login 1.3 is also out, this fixes that in e107 0.7.7 the way the plugin shortcodes are stored in the $pref variable has changed ( for the better ) which made it think the PM plugin was not installed.

Back from Holiday

Well I am back from Arinsal in Andorra, I had a good time learning to snowboard, and meeting new folk, Hi Steve and Sean !

When booking, all the photos were of snow covered buildings, but on arrival it was really warm, everything was green, and it only snowed for about 10 minutes during the whole of the holiday. Luckily they had snow making cannons which allowed us still to snowboard.

Photos were taken on a disposable camera, so will put them up when they are developed and stuck on a cd.

Holiday Time

Im off snowboarding in Andorra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andorra) tomorrow.

Ive been skiing before, but this will be my first time snowboarding, so really looking forward to it, although I expect to be spending most of the holiday falling over until I give up and head down to the local pub.

So I will be unavailable to reply to forum questions until I get back in a weeks time 🙂

ECaptcha Update Again

Version 2.1 of ECaptcha Spambot Protection is now available

2.1:
Double Doh ! Found mb_convert_encoding is part of a mbstring library (http://php.net/mbstring) which is not installed on some webservers. An alternative is now used if its not available.

2.0:
Doh, found mb_convert_encoding does not convert html characters, which could muck up the ecaptcha form. Adding htmlspecialchars alongside fixed the problem.

1.9:
Fixed is the display text for foreign characters, a limitation of htmlentities, switched to mb_convert_encoding instead which seems to do a much better job.
Thanks goes to David Coll (http://arcur.asso.fr) for pointing this out.

LGSL Updated Again

LGSL-E107 2.6 and LGSL-SA 2.0 are now available

– Added: Arma: Armed Assault
– Added: Operation Flashpoint

Arma is by the makers of Flashpoint, you can find more info over at http://www.armedassault.com

It looks like it could be a good game, the only downside is that the Czech version uses Starforce aka StarfuckYourComputerUp, whilst apparently the German version does not. So im hoping the UK will not be tainted otherwise I wont go near it.

ECaptcha Update

Version 1.7 of ECaptcha Spambot Protection is now available.

The main point of the release is that some small changes were needed for it to work with e107 0.7.6 which has just been released. In case your wondering, yes it still works with previous e107 versions.

LGSL Updates are Here

I am pleased to say that LGSL-E107 2.5 and LGSL-SA 1.9 are now available

Most notable changes are:

– Battlefield 2142 Support
– Improved Battlefield 2 and Battlefield Vietnam Support
– Improved Americas Army Support
– Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Support

Along with new images and other reliability improvements, so recommend updating.

Thanks goes to =GUN=Bacon (http://www.geeksunitednw.com) who made a quick BF2142 hack available, which kept people from pestering me while I got on with my own coding 🙂

Eyeing Up Alternatives

I have long been an All Seeing Eye fan, but sadly since Yahoo took over, the updates have become less and less until they are now non existent.

The release of BF2142 and no ASE updates means I have had to look for an alternative, and an install of GameSpy Arcade confirmed its still an over skinned, butt ugly piece of crap.

So say hello to http://www.QTRACKER.com

While there is room for improvement, its still good and updated promptly. It is free and unrestricted, but regular users should look at showing their support by registering. If anyone has another server browser they recommend then post a comment 🙂

LGSL is currently being worked on, there are lots of improvements, and its close to being finished.

ECaptcha Update

Glad to say I have finally found out why a few people were always getting the 'Key Has Expired' when using Ecaptcha.

Turns out Microsoft IIS webserver does not support the $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] variable that ecaptcha was using, so I have had to use a close alternative of $_SERVER[SCRIPT_NAME]."?".$_SERVER[QUERY_STRING] for people not running Apache.

I have added a fix for this, so ECaptcha 1.6 is now available for download.

Hosting Move and Feed

The site has now moved to another host, hopefully you will find everything still working and up to speed.

One thing that caught me off guard is that it runs suPHP for protection which throws up a "Internal server error (error 500)" error if you have any php_flag in your .htaccess ( for magic quotes and error levels etc ). You have to remove these entries and use suPHP_ConfigPath plus a php.ini instead.

Im also please to say the automated feed system has been a success, over 30 servers have been added in the short time its been available, meaning more people can enjoy lgsl 🙂
